ジョナサン・ストライカーさんは、インスタグラムのフォロワー数が４万人を超える22歳のコスプレイヤー。米cosmopolitanによると、彼は「ディズニー・ウィーク」と称して、8日間連続でディズニーアニメに登場するプリンスのコスプレ写真を、自身のインスタグラムに投稿した。

ジョナサンが「ディズニー・ウィーク」コスプレをスタートしたのは、現地時間8月27日の日曜日。「アラジン」の主人公アラジンや「リトル・マーメイド」のエリック王子、「塔の上のラプンツェル」のフリン・ライダーなど、日本でも人気の高いプリンスを見事に再現している。

Exactly one year ago I met someone very special to me that would later help me understand who I truly am, much like Hercules in his quest to become a hero. And like with Megara, I'll forever have a place in my heart for this person ❤️ Something I really loved about Hercules was the scene when Zeus tells Hercules that he has the chin of a God. Disney Week concludes! 🌟 Last but not least, the king of the jungle, SIMBA! 🦁 The Lion King is one of the best movies of all time, hands down. A story about self-discovery, justice, friendship, and love. The symbol of the lion is so big to me. It is a symbol of confidence and empowerment. The lion is sure of itself, it knows it's the king without having to compare itself with anything else. I love lions ❤️ Anyway, thought I'd keep it simple for the last Disney character and do something different. ジョナサンのこのディズニー・コスプレは、ネット上でたちまち話題に。中でもプリンスのコスプレが素晴らしいと絶賛する声が集まっている。

米Buzzfeedによると、ジョナサンはコスプレ歴10年。衣装や小道具作り、化粧、ウィッグ選びなどを全て1人で行っているとのことで、コスプレが完成するまで20時間かかることもあるという。コスプレ写真には、そのコスプレのコツやこだわった箇所などの説明文が添えられており、読み応えがあるものとなっている。

また、ヘラクレスのコスプレ写真では、「ゼウスがヘラクレスに”お前のあごは神のあご”と言うシーンが好きなんだ。ぼくは中学生の頃に大きなあごだとからかわれて、凄く傷ついて自信がなくなってしまってね。でも、この台詞を聞いて自信がついたんだ」と告白。ディズニーが彼の人生をポジティブに変えてくれたと語っている。
